Hi I'm Kerry.
A fully qualified Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) The National Hypnotherapy Society (TNHS). I also completed my Diploma in NLP (Neuro Lingutisc Practice )in 2001 as well as being an accredited Cruse Bereavement Counsellor.
I have spent the last 4 years working as a volunteer counsellor with ChildLine and Cruse Bereavement service gaining a wealth of knowledge and skills along the way.
I aim to provide a space for you to feel heard and accepted, working collaboratively to find ways to help with emotional difficulties and challenges. I am an integrative counsellor, meaning I use an amalgamation of counselling techniques, tailored for the individual client, believing you and your needs are unique. A humanistic, person-centred approach is at the core of my practice, placing you, your needs and values at the heart of our therapeutic relationship.
I offer in person sessions from the comfort of my practice room or through the outdoor experience of walk and talk. I also offer remote sessions through video calls or telephone. If you aren't sure, please get in touch with me to help you determine what session type would suit you.

What is counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy that allows you to talk about your problems and feelings in a safe confidential environment without judgement; this can be over a short period or form some long term depending of the nature of the issues raised and the individual. Counselling can really help you overcome problems, bring about effective change and enhance well-being.
Therapy may involve lots of different techniques or approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour therapy, brief therapy, psychodynamic therapy and trauma therapy depending on what is being discussed.
I work with a person-centred approach aimed at giving a greater self-belief and self-worth. I do this by helping to clarify what your inner values are and then empowering you to go on and reach your full potential.
Is there a confidentiality agreement?
I will not discuss what a young person has said to me in the session unless there is a safeguarding issues or if the child or someone they know is in immediate danger or at any risk. I will report directly to the school safeguarding officer should this occur.
A confidentiality form will need to be completed by all adults and further information around my codes of practice can be found on my website.
Will parents/carers be informed of what is discussed in sessions?
The confidentiality is crucial for the young person/ counsellor relationship to work and to establish a trust that they feel able to talk openly and freely about their concerns.
How long does counselling last?
The number of session depends on the issues being discussed. Usually there are between 4-6 sessions, however in some cases there can be more.
What is the cost?
Finding a counsellor can feel overwhelming when searching for someone who is right for you and I offer a free 20 minute consultation for us to chat and decide if you feel comfortable to continue into sessions.
The cost of a 50 minute session is £50.
